First of all I have to admit, I’m a bit of a
fan of Svaneke Bryghus. They make these classic beers, like this black lager,
but they are always very tasty and have perfect quality. Black lager is not my
favorite style of beer (and its German counterpart “Schwarz”), as is not light or dark lager either, but darker lagers in general are too often
just sweet counterparts of their light coloured bros. So, I had no expectations
at all.
Very black beautiful lager pours in glass.
Head is creamy and dark brown, very nice looking. Scent is also nice – it has
chocolate and coffee, roasted malts rule. Taste has all the same elements. Very
good, very nice aftertaste, easy drinkability. And think about it: This is
lager, maybe the most underrated beer style nowadays (because of those fucking
industrial piss bulks everywhere). This is how lager should be made.
**** Great
