Just another interlude: Sauna-beer battle

Year is near the end and reviews have not been pouring, shit! Just some interlude-shit then. Went to a friday night sauna. Bought some sauna-beers from local grocery. Took two of them to sauna, which is in the cellar of our old house, so they waited for their moment in cold. First some heavy hot steamy hell, then first touch: BrewDog Punk Pale Ale. It's been said in Finnish blogosphere that some breweries have a "house-taste" and its usually not a good one. Saimaa has "must&mould", Laitilan has "peasoup" and Hartwall is just piss. But now I realized that Brewdog has also a house-taste! It is "citrusy hoppy oily". Not bad, eh? Feels easy, really easy drinkable. Goes down like water. Aftertaste is mild so this was quite refreshing. Second touch: Haapala Hiukan helmeilevä (golden ale). A local (well, about 40km from Kajaani, but still) brewery which makes high quality beers that taste fresh and good. This is too! Way lot more fruits and and tastes that Punk Pale Ale, more fresh, refreshing. What's nice is that this has a hoppy backbone too. Very good "summery" beer, just great for sauna. But actually, if you think about it: A perfect sauna-beer is good and very easy-drinkable, which tastes good and goes down like water. Maybe Punk Pale Ale won this after all, but just with so little margin, that I'd call it a perfect tie. Beerwise I would still choose the local one, Haapala rules ok! :)
