Interlude: My first ever beer order from abroad/webshop (BrewDog)

Cheers beer-loving folks! As you two or maybe even three readers of my blog know, I live in Finland. Actually I live in the middle of Finland, far away from the capital, in a small town of some 36000 people, but at least we have a train station and actually even an airport. So, we are not in a most remotest place in Europe, but still faraway from the big cities and lots of traffic. So, I got bored of my hometown's liquor stores range of beers and thought of ordering something somewhere. I know it's not gonna happen here in Finland, in Finnish, although our beloved alcohol monopoly Alko does have a few beers that can be ordered to your nearby Alko from other Alko's in Finland or in bigger quantities these products: Stallhagen Brown Ale 12 x 0,5 litres 56,88 EUR Stallhagen US Red Ale 12 x 0,5 litres 58,92 EUR Stallhagen Baltic Porter 12 x 0,5 litres 61,80 EUR Chimay Tripel 24 x 0,33 litres 74,40 EUR Huvila X-Porter 20 x 0,5 litres 103,80 EUR Arctic Circle Ale 20 x 0,

Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier

This was just another drinkable lager from Deutchland. Malts dominate, basic pilsner in my book. Missing hops while drinking. ** Drinkable PS. Here's my very stupid video review I don't recommend watching because it doesn't have a head or a tail, or nothing in between. I actually speak Finnish the first two minutes, then change to English and don't even notice it myself :P I also play music too loud and talk drunktalk, for example I tell about my friend, who was one of the reasons I went for IPAs, as he was a huge fan and I was just starting to get to know the world of beers, modern era specifically. But I only start to tell about my friend, get lost in the start and put some Cypress Hill on :)

Trappist Achel

So, this is Belgian trappist. Want to know this was a revelation? Well, this was not. But let me say, that this rose to the occasion :) Yeasty stuff, Duvel's little brother. Video blog ENTRY which has a bit of a womanly story to tell also... *** OK

Stadin Panimo Ultimator

Great Finnish cratfbeer from capital of Finland, Helsinki. Notably a Stadin-product, there is something unique in the taste. Very dry and bitter taste. Very good for a lager, which this is, basically. Of course this has 8,0% vol alcohol, but the main thing for the thick sensations in mouth are caused by American hops, which are perharps Amarillo, I don't know the fucking specs. So, I made an annoying video blog entry for this, which is annoying because Youtube started to fuck with me and I had my first ten minute video go to the abyss...so this is second try which is recorded with the stupid CyberLink YouCam -software, so excuse my "tricks" (which annoy me too). Still, this is a good beer! Video review HERE **** Great

Interlude: Beer blogging of an ex-drunk (or not)

It's hard for a man of my age, with three little children at home, to find time for my own time and especially hobbies. Well, I have listed writing, reading, listening to records and internet (which includes all the shit from browsing to playing stupid browser games) as my hobbies, but 1.5 years ago I decided to start beer blogging. It was not a "serious" hobby, as I can't say anything "serious" about beer - it's not a "serious" topic for me. Though, now I think, maybe it is. I love beer. I love the taste and the drinking and the feeling of having great, tasty beer. I am, however, also an addict, when it comes to the substance itself - alcohol. So, maybe I was stupid to even think I could be a beer blogger, when I'm a bit of a drunk too. Drunkards don't appreciate the taste, they just need to drink. Wait, do I? I have not been drinking regularly for about a month and a half now, though I have been drunk three times. Still, they were s
