Saimaan Marsalkka Tumma

Chocolaty, malty and some nice coffeelike roastiness in aftertaste too. Really pleasant for such an light volumed beer. At the beginning I thought there might be some watery feel and even metallic sense, but the aromatic taste covers it all. Very good dark lager. Maybe even the best beer I’ve had from Saimaan Juomatehdas. Definitely one of the best dark lagers I’ve had. *** OK **** Great for a dark lager

Chimay Dorée

Chimay for monks. Nice for us normal mortals too. Kind of witbier-like easy-drinking Chimay. Very nice, drinkable Belgian trappist. In Finland it is forbidden to buy/sell this anywhere else than in Alcohol Monopoly Alko, because it has dangerously 4,8% ABV. Funny and sad at the same time. Cool summery Chimay! *** OK

Founders Imperial Stout

Looks like oil, when poured - very thick black shit. Head is dark. Sweetness and burned maltiness comes to nose when sniffed. Taste is like having a very sweet cup of espresso. And that is my problem with these Imperial Stouts. And by these, I mean these burned malty, coffeelike, espresso tasting, bitter dark chocolate tasting Imperial Stouts, that either have or don’t have sweetness. This has, maybe even too much to my taste. I don’t know…I always expect maybe too much and get disappointed for not having another Stone Russian Imperial Stout or Plevna Siperia 2010 Hanniku or this year’s best beer for me this far which was Amager Hr. Frederiksen. Those three mentioned are the TOP3-Imperial Stouts I’ve ever tasted and are easily among the best 10 beers of all time for me. I wasn’t a big fan of this “espresso style” in Nogne O´s Imperial Stout and am not a big fan of this Founders version of sweetened espresso. Still, this is a huge beer and definitely for all beer enthusiasts. And...

Stadin American Black Lager

Wow! What a nice smell comes through – very fruity and flowerlike hoppy scent. Black liquid. Not much carbonation, head is thin and goes away rather fast. Taste is hugely enjoyable! This is not thick as a brick shit, but still has many nice flavors. Burned but not too burned malts. Chocolate and liquorice, but not too sweet. Very fruity and bloomy nice bitter hoppiness. Very good black lager or would I say even perfect in its own genre. Nice summery beer with a bit thin body, but that is just right for increasing easy-drinkability = great session beer. **** Great black lager!

Laitilan Kievari Ameriikan Ale

Finnish indie APA. A bit misty ale has flowing particles, yeast or hops. Head is foamy and lasting. Smell is a bit non-existent, or beer (was in a can in fridge) too cold. Taste is kinda nice, flowery and hoppy. Not excellent, but nice and easy drinkable APA. *** OK

Little Valley Python IPA

English IPA. Toffee, nuttiness, diasetyl. Hoppy bitterness in the end taste. British style IPAs are not my favorites. This tries to be more like a modern (Americanlike) IPA but lacks freshness, fruitiness and well, great taste. Quite ok, but still not very good. ***- Just OK
