Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

I thought, I had already reviewed this earlier, so my colleague's 39 th birthday gift for me (4-pack of this lovely stout) got almost unnoticed, but let's not forget this past weeks pleasure. I drank this gift of four pack in three nights, and was very much appreciated about it's chocolate and coffee aromas. Really, really good stout this is. 10% vol alcohol, so we speak about ”Imperial Stout” here, and not any heavy drinking stuff, though it's heavy, but can't be drank heavily. Very splendid aromas and taste. Thanks to my lovely colleague Salla! **** Great

St. Feuillen Crand Cru

So, Belgians know how to make a strong, warming beer. This one is no exception. It's deceivingly light looking and first touch maybe a bit odd (as I don't drink this kind of beers so often, after all), but the head promises long-lasting enjoyment, and there is cool yeasts and all kinds of nice shit in here! This is no quickie, that's for sure. The head never disappears, it just gets thinner. Very sharp and throat-attacking - in a nice way - taste with warming alcohol and nice mixture of herbs and honey, being still quite sour (which I like – I don't like sweet beers) and lovely. Good alternative to my dear ol' Duvel :) **** Great

Fuller's Golden Pride

I'm a fan of Fuller's beers, so nowadays every time I open a Fuller's, I expect it to be at least ok, but many times great beer. This one was a hard one...first bottle I had was a disappointment. Lousy head, too much sweetness and caramel. Second bottle was a bit better, as I gave it some time, but maybe this would be better after time of maturing. So, mixed feelings, but definitely ok. *** OK for a beer ** Drinkable for a Fuller's

Laitilan Kievari Barley Wine

Great Finnish Independent Brewing from Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas. Watch my Video review *** OK for a drink **** Great for a slow enjoyment

Meantime London Stout

Very, very good stout from London. Bought from local grocery. Basic beer with 4,5% vol. alcohol rate, so maybe even deliberately made low alcohol? Head is nice, scent not so special. Taste is quite easy, but of course burned with tastes of coffee and chocolate. Kind of basic stout but very good drinkability, I like this a lot. Still no extra special beer, but very much ok, indeed. *** OK

Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel

Phew. Should I have opened this bottle at this time of night or not. Maybe not :) 9% vol. Very fresh smelling, fruits and yeast. Belgium <3 Head is biiig. Taste then: Absolutely fabulous. Yeasty dry full-bodied India Pale Ale, with not just double but triple effect. Still not in excess. Great. **** Great

Young's Double Chocolate Stout

Very dark and roasted, so is the aroma. Head looks nice. Taste is very chocolate-like!! Nice. What a beer – like drinking beer and coffee and eating chocolate at the same time. Wow! *** OK

Ridgeway IPA

First thing I noticed about this beer was its great aroma. Taste is ok too. But aroma is citruslike, fruits, hops – so nice. Head goes away soon, too bad. Then its about the taste, which is nice, first bite is bitterlike fresh, aftertaste a bit bitter. This is a very nice beer. *** OK

Brooklyn Lager

If all lagers would look, smell and taste like this, I would drink lager happily. Great aroma, head, taste. Hops, fruits, citrus, nam! *** OK

Bowman Stout

Sweet aroma, nice head. Slightly burned but very colorful taste that changes in mouth. Aftertaste is a bit bittersweet. Not necessarily my favorite tastes of them all, but nice. *** OK

Hooky Gold

Same ol, same ol. But good.  Hooky Gold is good golden ale *** OK

Murphy's Stout

I don't if it was Guinness or Murphy's, who invented this artficial head-making thing, but yeah, when you open the can, black stout pours in glass making the best-looking head – which is of course shambolic and fake :) Aroma, well, maybe there is some, I don't know. Taste is watery and easy-drinking, very lightly burned. Not very good beer. ** Drinkable

Blanche De Bruxelles

White beer from EU's Capital. Manneken Piss pissing to my cup. Nice head! Misty, un-filtered shit. Can't sense any spectacular aromas with my shitty nose. Taste very light. Too light, actually. ** Drinkable

Riedenburger Pils

This organic german pilsner is as good as a pilsner can be; Easy-drinking, but still tasty stuff to get food down and thirst away. Nothing fancy or spectacular or great about it, but basic goodness. Extra points for being organic and un-filtered, with nice misty outlook. *** OK
